Welcome to the Mercy Mounthawk website. It is our hope that this webpage will give visitors some level of insight into what life is like for our students in our school.

The core values of CEIST are intended to support and nourish the lives of the people who are at the heart of our schools, our students.

An education at Mercy Secondary School Mounthawk is about opportunity and growth within a faith-based community.  We endeavour to provide opportunities, inside the classroom and outside, which allow our students to fully flourish and grow as individuals. Our exemplary academic record over many years is backed up by an enormous extracurricular programme.  Our school has national Science awards, numerous top-level football titles for boys and girls, All-Ireland ‘A’ basketball titles, stunning award-winning annual stage productions to name but a few. A trawl through our social media depicts a school with something for everyone and an approach that education, a true education, is about the whole person, in all their wonderful potential.

Ours is a school which places huge emphasis on community and this is evident as soon as you walk through our doors. This sense of community is evident in the quality of relationships between staff and students. In keeping with our Mercy tradition, this relationship is one of respect and care, with well-fostered interpersonal connections. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school community where all students can have this sense of belonging.

All of this provides a background in which academic achievement is made possible. A happy child, surrounded by community and growing in personal confidence through the exploration of all of their god-given gifts, is a child ready to succeed in their studies.  Supported by an outstanding teaching staff, results at Mercy Mounthawk have routinely surpassed national expectations. Teaching and Learning is the core business of our school and we are committed to excellence at all times.
